India-Pakistan Conflict: The Department of Military Affairs (DMA) under the Ministry of Defence is scheduled to hold a press conference on Sunday, May 11. The conference is expected to take place at 11:00 am today. The development comes after Pakistan violated the ceasefire last night.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri also confirmed late on Saturday that Pakistan had violated a ceasefire agreement arrived at by both sides through talks mediated by the US.
"For the last few hours, there were repeated violations of the understanding arrived at earlier this evening between the DGMOs of India and Pakistan. This is a breach of the understanding arrived at earlier today," said the Foreign Secretary.
"The armed forces are giving an adequate and appropriate response to these violations, and we take very very serious notice of these violations. We call upon Pakistan to take appropriate steps to address these violations and deal with the situation with seriousness and responsibility," he said in a brief media brief.
"The Armed Forces are maintaining a strong vision on the situation. They have been given instructions to deal strongly with any instances of repetition of the violations of the borders along the international border as well as the line of control," he added.
